Introducing the Rajasthani Folk Singers Group, a collective of talented artists dedicated to showcasing Rajasthan’s rich musical tradition. Led by experienced artists deeply rooted in the region’s cultural heritage, our band embodies the soulful melodies, vibrant rhythms and timeless stories that characterize Rajasthan’s folk music.

With a rich historical heritage, the folk music of Rajasthan reflects the diverse landscapes, colorful festivals and enduring spirit of the people. Through our performances, we transport audiences to the majestic deserts, lush hills and bustling villages of Rajasthan and invite them to experience first-hand the magic of our musical heritage.

Our repertoire includes a wide range of traditional music styles from Rajasthan, including:

Manganiyar Music: This hauntingly beautiful music originates from the Manganiyar community and is often performed at weddings, festivals and religious ceremonies. With his stirring vocals and complex instrumentation, Manganiyar’s music captures the essence of Rajasthan’s desert landscape and nomadic traditions.

Langas Music: This ancient musical tradition, which has its origins in the Langas community, is characterized by soulful melodies and rhythmic poetry. Accompanied by instruments such as sarangi, dholak and khartal, langas music celebrates love, longing and the eternal pursuit of spiritual fulfillment.

Bhavai Music: Derived from Bhavai folk dance, Bhavai music is known for its lively rhythms and energetic performances. Bhavay’s music, which includes instruments like Dhol, Manjira and Harmonium, enlivens the stage with its infectious energy and lively beats.

Ghumar Music: Ghumar music complements the graceful movements of the Ghumar dance and is a celebration of femininity and joy. Gumara music invites dancers and spectators to have fun and enjoyment with its rhythmic melodies and rhythmic percussions.

Maand Music: Reminiscent of the romance and grandeur of the royal courts of Rajasthan, Maand music is characterized by complex compositions and majestic melodies. Often accompanied by sarangi, tabla and harmonium, Maand’s music transports listeners to a bygone era full of kings, queens and timeless love stories.

At Rajasthani Folk Singers Group, we strive to preserve and promote the rich musical heritage of Rajasthan for future generations. Through our performances, workshops and educational initiatives, we strive to celebrate the diversity and cultural richness of our beloved country song by song. Join us on a musical journey through the heart and soul of Rajasthan, where every note is a testament to the enduring legacy of our folk traditions.
