Kharkiv police officers detained a pimp group of 6 people who were members of the “International Committee for the Protection of Human Rights”. The offenders covered the illegal activities of more than a dozen local prostitutes, receiving a stable percentage of their income.

Protectors of prostitutes

The organizer of the criminal group was a 29-year-old Kharkiv man who searched for young and attractive prostitutes on the intimate dating site, got acquainted with them, learning their personal circumstances, and recruited girls with a difficult financial situation. The 28-year-old accomplice guaranteed legal protection for the prostitutes if they were detained by the police, and 4 other members of the group worked in shifts. They were responsible for taking orders, distributing the girls to clients, renting hotel rooms for dates, guarding them in dangerous situations, and delivering them if they were to work away. “Under the wing” of the attackers worked 12 escort girls, who gave for protection and pandering with guys 40 percent of income, transferring to a bank card or handing personally in hand.

During the arrest, the suspects were seized a large sum of money in local currency, cell phones with contacts of the girls and accomplices, laptops with accounts and 3 traumatic guns with rubber bullets, which were used if the girls were in danger. The detainees have been declared suspects, five are being held in custody and the sixth is under 24-hour house arrest. The prostitutes from the group were given administrative fines and released to their homes, adding their contacts to the case file.
