Professions have been one of the main sources of income for WoW players, and it's a feature as old as time that has not only been available since the beginning, but it's been iterated countless times since then.
Each class has its own uniqueness and advantages, and as always, depending on the class, some classes have advantages over others, and the same is true for Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
Top 5 Best Warcraft Classic WotLK Classes
There are a total of 11 classes in WotLK Classic (excluding cooking). These range from Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, Tailoring, and more to Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning.
Knowing this, it's hard to decide on our top five best careers. However, some are significantly higher than the rest. The top five are listed below.
5 — Enchanting
Perhaps one of the most add-on classes -- all of which are character additions in the grand scheme of things -- is Enchanting.
Not only does the class allow players to add extra "charisma" to their class by adding extra stats on bracers, boots, etc., but also, in some cases, specific buffs with weapon enchantments. This is an all-around great way to reach a specific number of stats, rearrange stat weights, and more.
In addition, enchanters can create class-specific enchantments. These come in the form of ring enchantments, specifically three: Assault, which grants +80 Attack Power, Greater Spell Power +46 Spell Power, and Stamina +60 Stamina, all of which are massive stat increases. 4 — Tailoring
As a cloth-making profession, tailoring has enormous benefits for classes such as warlocks, priests, and wizards.
As with other crafting professions, Tailors have the ability to provide gear, albeit at different prices, which are essential for passing extra steps or just getting you overall ready for a dungeon or raid.
However, the Tailor's main benefit is its cloak enchantment. Unlike normal armor enchantments that increase stats, Tailoring enchantments provide buffs similar to weapon enchantments, and can provide the caster with leg enchantments such as Spell Threat.
These additives, called embroidery, go beyond ordinary enchantments and come in different forms: Dark Light, Light Pattern, and Sword Guard.
Here's what each does:
Darkglow Embroidery - Cloak Enchant - Gives you a chance to restore 400 mana upon casting.
Lightweave Embroidery - Cloak Enchant - Chance upon casting to increase your spell power by 295 for 15 seconds.
Swordguard Embroidery - Cloak Enchant - Causes your damaging melee and ranged attacks to sometimes increase your attack power by 400 for 15 seconds.
3 — Blacksmithing
As a maker of mail and plate armor, and most importantly, a maker of weapons, blacksmithing can be touted as one of the best professions in the game.
It's similar to a tailor and can craft gear for specific classes, in this case paladins, warriors and upcoming death knights, and it can also provide weapons for a variety of classes, making it great for dungeons and raids. They can also make belt buckles to add a socket to the belt.
On top of that, blacksmiths, like enchanters, have their own class-specific bonuses. Similar to belt buckles, they can create slots for themselves in the bracer and glove slots, which can significantly increase stats.
2 — Jewelcrafting
Jewelcrafting is probably one of the most unique professions on the entire list. While it doesn't offer enchantments ala Enchanters, nor does it necessarily offer a ton of well-crafted armor akin to Tailoring and Blacksmithing, it can offer players something even bigger - gems.
Gems, like enchanting, are another way to get stats. However, as opposed to small increases in specific stats, gems are more powerful because they provide a greater amount. Also, jewelry making is the only profession that can make necklaces and rings.
All of these above options are very important, but they are not the main attraction, as the Jeweler can get probably the most powerful class-specific bonus of all, the Jeweler-specific gem.
Similar to normal gems, they provide a specific amount of stats that can be placed in sockets, however, they provide an even larger amount.
Here are some examples:
Bold Dragon's Eye +42 Strength
Bright Dragon's Eye +84 Attack Power
Delicate Dragon's Eye +42 Agility
Runed Dragon's Eye +48 Spell Power
Lustrous Dragon's Eye +21 Mana every 5 seconds
Solid Dragon's Eye +63 Stamina
Sparkling Dragon's Eye +42 Spirit
Stormy Dragon's Eye +54 Spell Penetration
Quick Dragon's Eye +42 Haste Rating
Rigid Dragon's Eye +42 Hit Rating
Smooth Dragon's Eye +42 Critical Strike Rating
1 - Engineering
Engineering is the best career on this list. Not only does this class offer the best of both worlds of the previous picks on this list in terms of enchanting and crafting armor, but it also provides players with some ultimately vital additions.
You have portable banking and repair tools Jeeves, mobile mail, MOLL-E, enchantments like Nitro Boosts, Cloak Slow Falls, Mind Amplifying Discs, and Handheld Fire Rockets, all of which stack with the enchanter's enchantments, and many, many more. Additionally, they can create Saronite Bombs, which come in handy in many combat situations.
This is an overall advantage for both PvE and PvP players, and in many people's opinion, it's completely necessary.
