Resetting your AirTag when it is not working
When the AirTag you want to reset is not in range of your device, performing these steps will remove the tracker from your Apple ID but will not factory reset it. In case this occurs, refer to the next section to reset your AirTag.
- Check that the AirTag you are going to reset is Bluetooth compatible with your device and has a working battery.
- Launch the Find My application, and if you cannot see the application, move to the ‘Items’ section.
- From the list, choose the AirTag that you wish to reset.
- Then, move down and tap on Remove Item. Choose the same option when prompted again on the screen and complete the process to reset Apple AirTag.
This method removes the AirTag from your Apple ID, and if the tracker is in range and on, it gets reset to factory settings.
