Learn how to reset an Apple AirTag when it’s not working. Follow simple steps using the Find My app to remove, reset, and restore AirTag functionality easily.

The Find My network is one of the most useful features provided by Apple to its users. Through the features, users can easily track down all their Apple devices. Additionally, if you want to track something else out of the Apple ecosystem, then an AirTag is the best option that you have.

The AirTag allows you to track down any device to which it is attached. However, the reset process for an AirTag is not so simple for many users. In case your AirTag is not working, you can easily refer to the process mentioned here to learn how to reset AirTag

Resetting your AirTag when it is not working

When the AirTag you want to reset is not in range of your device, performing these steps will remove the tracker from your Apple ID but will not factory reset it. In case this occurs, refer to the next section to reset your AirTag.

  1. Check that the AirTag you are going to reset is Bluetooth compatible with your device and has a working battery.
  2. Launch the Find My application, and if you cannot see the application, move to the ‘Items’ section.
  3. From the list, choose the AirTag that you wish to reset.
  4. Then, move down and tap on Remove Item. Choose the same option when prompted again on the screen and complete the process to reset Apple AirTag.

This method removes the AirTag from your Apple ID, and if the tracker is in range and on, it gets reset to factory settings.
