AviaGames Founder Vickie Chen on Mobile Gaming Growth

Aviagames is a fair and competitive gaming platform

Over the past year, AviaGames (also known as Avia) has deepened its focus on community engagement by launching in-game campaigns in partnership with nonprofit organizations. This commitment was recently highlighted by Women-Led Games, an industry platform known for showcasing innovation from women-led and majority-women studios, along with influential female leaders in gaming. In the feature interview, Founder and CEO Vickie Chen discussed Avia’s origins, the realities of marketing in the mobile gaming industry, and the measurable outcomes of the company’s recent charity-driven efforts.

Vickie shared that the idea for AviaGames stemmed from an early career realization: many games were designed primarily for hardcore players, leaving a broader audience underserved. Although she enjoyed gaming herself, she did not fully relate to that core demographic. That insight became her defining “aha moment,” inspiring her to build competitive games that are accessible, fair, and easy to understand. In 2016, she and her co-founder launched Avia from a small garage in Mountain View, California, working long hours to develop their first titles. Today, the company has grown into a multi-title publisher, with women representing more than 40% of the team, including key leadership roles.

Among Avia’s portfolio, Vickie highlighted Solitaire Clash as a standout achievement. The title has surpassed 60 million downloads and now hosts approximately 450 million tournaments each month, consistently ranking near the top of its genre on both the iOS App Store and the Galaxy Store. Beyond performance metrics, she emphasized the strength of the game’s player community, noting that this engaged base has been instrumental in powering Avia’s recent charitable campaigns. In mobile gaming, she explained, sustained momentum is essential—requiring continuous live operations, regular updates, and close coordination between marketing and product teams to maintain engagement in a competitive landscape.

Avia’s nonprofit initiatives reflect the company’s belief that everyday gameplay can drive meaningful impact. During its 9th Anniversary in 2025, Avia partnered with Nevada SPCA for the Play for Paws campaign, enabling matches played in Solitaire Clash and Bingo Tour to contribute directly to donations. The initiative raised over $220,000 and provided 14,000 pounds of dog food, alongside volunteer opportunities for players. Later, the holiday-themed Wonderland Wishes campaign, created in collaboration with Foster Love, raised $136,000 to support foster youth through tournaments and community events. As Avia approaches its 10th anniversary, Vickie reaffirmed that future charity partnerships and community-driven campaigns will remain central to the company’s mission, with more details to be announced in the months ahead.
